After a hugely successful trip to the Netball Super League Super Cup 2025, we caught up with three Warriors (Amber, Jo S and Aggie) to hear about their experience, what they enjoyed, what they learned, and why you should consider joining the next trip! From team-bonding to jaw-dropping netball action, here’s what they had to say:
Before we start, what is the Netball Super Cup? It's an exciting new one-day tournament, bringing together all eight NSL clubs for the very first time in a high-energy showdown. Every team takes to the court in a single day of unmissable action, all competing to become the inaugural Netball Super Cup champions.

Pre-Trip Preparations:
What were you most looking forward to about the Super Cup?
“I was looking forward to watching the new teams play; it’s so exciting to see the development within the Super League, and these new teams caused such a buzz before the league!”
“I was most excited about seeing all the teams play. Having only ever watched games on TV, I couldn’t wait to see it all in action. I was also excited to see the Super Shot in action!”
“Chance to see the new team line-ups and watch players who have moved teams”
Did you do any pre-trip prep, like scouting players or just making sure you had enough snacks for the journey?
“I actually was just really looking forward to watching netball live again, so I, just made sure to enjoy watching all players and games instead of prepping for anything!”
“I definitely did a good Instagram stalk prior to all of the Pulse players! A cup of tea for an early morning train was all I needed!”
“Yes had to read up on the super shot as I’d never seen that in a live match before.”
The Journey & Team Shenanigans:
Any funny road trip moments that need to be shared (or kept a team secret)?
“I would say there was a good half of us who weren’t used to early starts and probably wanted to sleep the entire journey opposed to those who had bundles of energy in the early morning… (I can confidently say I’m not a morning person) Maybe I missed out on any funny moments because I was sleeping haha!”
“I was on the coach for a total of 5 hours at 6 am with a child watching YouTube full blast behind me, fair to say I was not laughing, but the kid was!”
“A real highlight was the enthusiastic conversations with the local pizza establishments.”
What was it like travelling with the team? Did it help bring everyone closer together?
“So good to have the time to get to know each other better off the court and to strengthen the warrior family!”
“To the organisers/s of the trip, journey, hotels, etc, I think I said, 'you women really could run the world'. Hats off to Caroline and Sarah for organising!”
“I didn’t travel with the team lol sorry I missed out on the party train.”
Game Time – The Super Cup Experience
What was it like stepping into the arena? Did it feel like netball heaven?
“Stepping into the arena was just magical, it’s so lovely to see all the young kids and their parents coming together to enjoy the day. The smiles on their faces, looking up to the players, are just amazing! The arena had such a good vibe!”
“I was mind blown. Our seats were right behind the post on the front row, so I think we were all a little blown away by how close we were. The atmosphere was amazing!”
“The arena was massive and so good to see full crowd capacity. The seats were epic - literally could feel the breeze as the players sprinted past.”
How did it feel watching Super League players doing their thing up close? Were you in awe or just mentally taking notes for your own game?
“The players are just incredible and we all know that, but being able to watch them against each other and see the ball speed and their speed across the court was surreal, I’m always in awe of them, especially standing up close to a 6ft plus player!”
“Both, I think. It was so easy to just be mesmerised and engrossed in the game, especially as they were so short and had quick turnovers. I tried to take mental notes for my own games as much as I could however, the game was so quick and the ball was so fast, it was hard to keep up ha!”
“It really gives you a chance to appreciate the height, speed and reactions of the players. Also really like to be able to watch a player (typically my position) the whole time without having a cameraman dictating the view.”

Which team/player blew your mind the most?
“Leeds Rhinos blew me away! I have been fortunate enough to speak to a few of the ladies on the team due to my job a few times, and because they are such a lovely bunch that really did stand out to me, it was such a good feeling to watch them succeed in the final too!”
“London Pulse - GS - Liv Tchine. What a woman.”
“Loved watching Notts Forest coming out and staking their claim as the new kids on the block.”
Was there a moment in the game that made you jump out of your seat (or scream or spill your drink)?
“The moment that Rhinos beat Loughborough Lightning! What a moment!”
“It has to be the final game between London Pulse and Leeds Rhinos. The last quarter with the super shot in play was nail-biting. That whistle for Pulse win I think we all jumped out of our seats to celebrate.”
“Yes when Caroline and Amber got chosen to take part on court in the Super Shot challenge and sunk those goals. So proud!”
Did you pick up any cheeky tips or skills to bring back to Warriors?
“The calmness on the ball is something I would definitely take back with me. As players, we always panic the second we get the ball, but being calm and collected is such a skill on the court to ensure that pass gets to where it needs to be.”
“Accuracy of passing and faking a pass for sure. I will definitely be trying fake passes in games to put the defence off.”
“ It’s always inspiring to watch the athletes and then lean into it to push yourself a little harder, jump a little higher and build those types of relationships on court back in training and matches.”

Post-Match & The Aftermath:
What’s the one thing you’ll be bragging about to anyone who will listen?
“The fact I was in the same room as Jess Thirlby!”
“That I got to take a shot in the half time from the Super Shot ring on the court. A bit of once and in a lifetime experience that! Thank god it wasn’t televised though - I was so nervous!!”
“Courtside seats - hello!!!!”
Can you describe the whole experience in three words?
”Powerful, exciting and inspiring.”
“Unforgettable, mesmerising, immense.”
“ Energising, inspiring and uplifting.”
Would you do it all over again (and can we count you in for the next trip)?
”Of course! The fact this year was on International Women’s Day was just so incredible as well.”
“Absolutely - I’m there.”
“Yes, please, but only if Sarah brings her Warriors flag with her again.”

Any advice for Warriors who missed out and are now suffering from FOMO?
“COME NEXT TIME!”
“Don’t question it, just do it. Even if you aren’t a ‘netball geek’ and don’t watch the games on TV, it’s so much fun! What better way to spend more time with Warriors, too.”
“Get involved, get to know your Warrior tribe and make sure you book in to watch some epic netball together in the future.”
